The trails are GPS'ed. The 50 mile is 50.1 miles. The shorter ride is 27 miles at this time --it may be lengthened to meet the 30 mile criteria. The total elevation ascent on the 50 mile is 4495 ft. The trails are majority old logging roads, some newly used logging roads, a 2 mile technical bike trail, 2 miles on a soft gravel road like at Sand Canyon. There is a majority good footing with small sections of rock--if you normally pad, I would pad for this ride. If you don't normally pad you probably don't need to. The trails are a little dusty right now --let's hope for some rain before September 30th .
There are 3 loops:
North Loop 13.3 miles with 2287 ft of climbing --this is the first and most difficult loop and still has areas to move out. The two mile technical bike trail is half way through this loop.
South Loop 13.6miles with 1746 feet of climbing. This is everyone's last loop and is the easiest trail with lots of shade and nice footing.
Woody Mountain Loop 23.2 miles with 2208 ft of climbing. This is the middle loop for the 50 mile ride. It has a big climb up the mountain (Whiskey gallops it for fun) with a water tank near the top. Again, even with the climb there are many places you can really move out on this lolly pop loop.
